CAHPS® Hospital Survey (HCAHPS) Participation Information
To participate in HCAHPS Data Collection and Public Reporting, all hospitals self-administering the survey and survey vendors must meet certain Program Requirements and must be in compliance with the requirements in the current HCAHPS Quality Assurance Guidelines. Hospitals interested in applying to become approved to self-administer the HCAHPS Survey and organizations interested in applying to become approved HCAHPS Survey vendors must meet all of the current “HCAHPS Minimum Business Requirements." These requirements are available on the HCAHPS Minimum Business Requirements page of the HCAHPS Website.
In addition, hospitals/survey vendors must submit a Participation Form to the HCAHPS Project Team for approval during the open Participation period and participate in HCAHPS Training prior to the administration of the HCAHPS Survey.
Currently approved HCAHPS Self-administering hospitals and Survey vendors who wish to become approved for a new mode of survey administration must go through the Participation process.
Please note: Hospitals that have contracted with a survey vendor to collect HCAHPS Survey data are not required to meet these requirements.
